Is Your Brain Bruised?

Medical professional
|

Hematoma describes the combining of blood outside of the blood vessels but is more commonly known as a bruise. While a regular bruise on your arm or leg might not be anything to worry about, bruising of the brain can be extremely dangerous.

What is the prognosis for Hematoma?

  1. Though most hematomas resolve by themselves, some cases call for surgery depending on the pain, symptoms, and clinical situation.
  2. Blood vessels are normally injured and may leak blood causing hematomas or blood clots. There are many different types of hematomas and they are described by the location of the hematoma.
  3. Injuries to the head should be taken seriously because of the danger of bleeding causing serious medical conditions that can be epidural (above the epidural membrane), subdural (below the epidural membrane), (within the brain tissue), or subarachnoid (between the pial and arachnoid membranes in the brain).

When a person experiences an accident–especially head-related–they typically need to undergo medical evaluation and possibly treatment. If you have suffered a brain/head injury, because of the actions of another person, contact Potter Burnett Law to receive the financial compensation you need from the individual responsible for your injuries.
